This Monday, January 27, early in the morning, a fire broke out on the roof of the town hall of the 12ᵉ arrondissement of Paris.

Its iconic 36 -meter bell tower is seriously damaged.

About 150 firefighters have extinguished the flames, and no victim is to be deplored.

The authorities warned against a potential risk of collapse of the upper bell tower. A security perimeter has been established and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Public services were temporarily relocated in the town hall of the 11ᵉ arrondissement.
