La Parade, organized by local artists and volunteers, presented a colorful range of dancers, giant puppets and a fanciful battle train. It has crossed several districts on the south side of the city, attracting acclaimed crowds along the route. The festivities ended in Powderhorn Park with the ceremony of the tree of life, a symbolic performance honoring the sun and the changes of seasons. The organizers say that the May 1ᵉʳ parade of the city has been an annual celebration of art and the community for 50 years.
