Video. The number of cattle increases while calm returns to Mont Mor

Located between the Yüksekova district in Hakkari and the Başkale district in Van, the mountain now resonates sounds of water, animals and traditional dances, while local communities return to its sets. Formerly abandoned, the region now accommodates around 40,000 sheep.

The mountain, one of the three ultra -prominent summits of the region, had seen its activity reduced due to conflicts.

With increased stability, the inhabitants revive traditional practices, including seasonal migrations and the “Hoze” ritual, which separates the lambs from their mothers.
