Video. Sudden rains flood the streets and block vehicles in Mexico

Firefighters, police and civil protection teams responded to calls throughout the city of Mexico City on Monday, after flood waters overwhelmed the streets and underground passages.

In an area near the Concordia bridge, the water level has reached 1.5 meters, trapping drivers in their vehicles and motorcycles. Several buildings were also flooded, but no injuries were reported.

The authorities had issued weather warnings earlier in the day, announcing persistent rain and hail.
