The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Doha on Wednesday the developments of the situation in the Gaza Strip, and the most prominent regional and international developments.

The Amiri Diwan said that the Emir of Qatar reviewed with Blinken the ongoing mediation efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire and secure the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

For his part, Blinken said that his discussions with the Emir of Qatar dealt with “an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, meeting humanitarian needs, and ending the war in Gaza.”

Earlier, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani discussed with the US Secretary of State the response delivered by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to the mediators regarding the deal proposal.

The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister affirmed Doha’s commitment to bridging the gap and bringing the parties together to reach an end to the war, calling on all parties to make concessions.

Yesterday, Tuesday, Hamas submitted to the mediators its response to the proposal announced by US President Joe Biden at the end of last May, based on the plan of the Israeli War Council, which includes 3 stages for a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire.
