Discussions continue this Tuesday around the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in exchange for a truce in the Gaza Strip.

We are getting closer to concluding a truce agreement“, declared the leader of the Palestinian Islamist movement.

Washington also delivered a message along these lines, when the spokesperson for the National Security Council announced that the Americans were confident in the release of the hostages. “We’ve never been closerdid he declare. But there is still work to do. Nothing is done until everything is done“.

In Israel, families criticize Benjamin Netanyahu’s government for prioritizing military victory over the release of hostages. Families of children detained by Hamas took the UN to task on Monday during a demonstration in front of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Tel Aviv.

A hospital evacuated

On Monday evening, Palestinians were evacuated from the Indonesian hospital in the Gaza Strip to another health facility, with the help of the Red Cross. According to Hamas, 200 patients were released from the hospital and 400 are still inside, while at least 12 people were killed by an Israeli strike a few hours earlier.

Around ten trucks arrived in Gaza on Monday to build a field hospital.

According to Hamas, Israeli bombings left 13,000 dead in a month and a half, including 5,500 children.
