Yediot Aharonot newspaper said that the Israeli -Israeli soldier Alexander Alexander is the last American detainee known to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and that the movement agreed to release him after direct talks with US officials.

Special Envoy Steve Witkeva Alexander personally informed him of the expected release within 48 hours, knowing that the movement also holds the remains of 4 other American citizens who are still negotiations to return them.

US President Donald Trump hoped – according to the newspaper – to announce the release of Alexander in his speech to the union’s condition last March, but the moment did not come at the time.

The newspaper stated that Idan grew up in Tinafley in New Jersey, and that he was a professional swimmer in high school and a lover of dangerous sports, before he migrated after graduating to Israel to live with his seriousness in Tel Aviv.

Idan joined the Israeli army and served in the Golani Brigade, and he was serving in his base in southern Israel, as the newspaper says, and during his detention he managed to communicate with his mother by phone, and he told her that he “saw things similar to what we witnessed in World War II, his helmet was shocked, but he said he was fine.”

After losing the call, his mother, Yael, called her husband, and the family began collecting any information she could provide to the authorities, in a desperate attempt to know his fate, and in July Yael received a sign of him as alive.

Since then, the family has received other references that Idan is alive, including a video clip in which he appeared asking for his release, but now his mother returns to Israel to meet her son after the expected release in the coming hours.
