The Israeli newspaper Haaretz published a report supported by pictures revealing the niqab of what the Palestinians are exposed to in the city of Hebron in the West Bank, by Jewish settlers, from violence and violations on their lands.

Someone may say and what is new in that, these are incidents that occur every day in the occupied Palestinian territories. But the report published by the newspaper by leftist writer Gideon Levy and his colleague, photographer Alex Levak, dealt with the suffering of the residents of Khala Al -Natsheh neighborhood in general, and the family of Younis Idris, 75, in particular.

The report stated that an Israeli army officer drew on the sands of a fake line 20 meters from the homes of the residents of the neighborhood on the trap of Tal, which is spread next to the wheat fields, grapes and olive trees. It is prohibited from the Palestinians living there to approach their lands, and to cross the imaginary line.

Fine and deviant justice

Not only that. The Palestinians there suffer the two things from the attacks of the settlers, who attack their lands and make fun of them and strike them with batons and iron bars, and try to set fire to their homes, and leave their sheep sponsoring their farms.

The irony is that when violence reaches unbearable levels, Palestinians do not find a complaint to the police, which calls them the day following the investigation of them – and not with the settlers – and hold them for hours before being released on a bail of up to two thousand shekels (about 550 US dollars).

As for the settlers, the subject of the complaint, no one is interrogating or detaining them, as stated in the report, which indicates that “this is in the abbreviation of the twisted and perverted justice of the occupation system.”

Repeated pattern

Levy and his colleague Levak said that they visited an apartment on the ground floor of a 3 -storey building in which 5 families from Idris live in the neighborhood of Khala Al -Natsheh located below the mountain slope, which lies at the top of which is a settlement focus called (Jafat Gal) and a military site equipped with surveillance cameras, and next to them is the Kiryat Arba settlement.

Violent young men motivated hatred and racism to get out of the hill almost every day to attack the Palestinian population to force them to evacuate the neighborhood and seize their lands. Today they are closer than ever to achieve their goal under the protection of the extremist Israeli government and under the misdemeanor of the war that is taking place in the Gaza Strip.

In the Easter week last April, 3 or 4 young men from Jaafat Gal residents were driving 15 sheep to nurture them in the fields owned by the Idris family. The same scene was repeated after 4 days. When the Palestinian residents tried to expel them, one of the young men invoked their comrades in the settlement.

According to the Haaretz report, such attacks have become a frequent pattern, as the boys descended from the hill with their herd and pass through a provocative way near the Palestinian homes as if they were the land of the land, and when the residents try to protect their property, a large force of about 20 settlers pounced on them, masked and armed with sticks, batons and bars, screaming and throwing them with stones and hitting them.

Anti -settlers

Raji Idris, 37, narrates that the Jewish youths once asked him to prepare them for a hookah and give them cigarettes and rosary, so he gave them what they wanted because he had no other option as he says.

The matter was repeated with the Idris family again on April 22, two settlers stormed the house and tried to set fire to it by pouring a flammable liquid on some of the old tires lying abroad.

This time, 3 young shepherds began insulting the Palestinians, and then a older settlers appeared, and one of them was carrying a gun. The group was accompanied by two soldiers in military uniforms, and did not move a finger while the settlers were running in a state of agitation.

When Sadiq, the son of Idris, tried to repel them, one of the soldiers shot the air. Then one of the settler sponsors broadcast honest with an iron penis and broke his arm.

The next day, 5 members of the Idris clan filed a complaint with an attack at the Hebron Police Station, but they soon discovered that they became the suspects; The settlers had filed a complaint against them.

The arrest of the oppressed

Sadiq narrated to Gaddat, Levak, and what happened between him and the police. He said that he told the officers that he was defending his house, while the settlers were trying to set fire to him. When the Palestinian families complained to the police, they were told that their complaints lacked documented evidence, then the case was closed, and the complainants were arrested.

On the same day, one of the officers asked them to deposit the amount of two thousand shekels, at 400 shekels for each detainee, to release them, but he did not give them a receipt to receive the amount.

When the Haaretz newspaper asked the police about whether the settlers involved in the April 22 accident were called to investigate them and were released on bail like their victims, the Israeli police spokesman replied that an investigation was under the procedure.
