The criticism in Israel continued to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after announcing an agreement to release the American Israeli prisoner, Alexander Alexander, while an ally of Netanyahu presented justifications for the agreement and confirmed the progress in the war on Gaza.

The Israeli prisoners’ families said in a statement that the expected release of Alexander shows the commitment of a firm leader towards his citizens, in reference to US President Donald Trump, who supervised the agreement.

She emphasized that the war will not return the prisoners, and demanded that the Netinahu government “be based on the right historical and put an end to the nightmare we are living in.”

The families considered that the current period is testing “the government’s commitment to the Israelis”, and demanded that “the exploitation of the next 24 hours to achieve a comprehensive breakthrough and agreement.”

The Army Radio quoted the captive brother Ingrest as saying that Israel “decided that foreign nationals are more valuable than its injured soldiers.”

For his part, the leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Labid, considered that the agreement to release the prisoner Aidan Alexander “reflects a fatal political failure to the government of Israel and those who stand on its head,” and demanded that the release of the American -Israeli citizen “start a comprehensive deal that restores all the kidnappers.”

Al -Jaish Radio quoted former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot as saying that the Alexander Idan case confirms that “Israel shows weakness.”

In turn, the leader of the Israeli Democratic Party, Yair Golan, said that Netanyahu “actually abandoned his citizens and left them to the mercy of foreign powers,” adding that he was “shocked because an Israeli soldier abandoned by the government needs an American president to release him.”

Golan demanded that all prisoners be released from Gaza, and considered that the “extreme right’s insistence on Gaza’s annexation of Israel and the residence of Gush Qatif’s settlements is absolute madness, believing that we will find the last Kalashnikov rifle in Gaza is not related to reality.”

He stressed that “an alternative to Hamas must be found in order to defeat it,” considering that there is no need for more than “stationing in the buffer zone and continuing to launch attacks inside Gaza.”

On the other hand, Israeli Minister of Agriculture Avi Dichter said that Alexander’s release “came in response to an American request and not within a deal,” adding in an interview reported by the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, “We are not the 51st star on the American flag, and the goals of the war did not change.”
