Lithuanian and Polish defense ministers want to protect the eastern border of the European Union and NATO member states.
They visited the border with Belarus, near Vilnius.

Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said:
“The Polish state, together with its allies, will do everything to protect the eastern border of the EU and NATO even better. This is our highest calling, and this calling can be fulfilled not only by nation states, but first and foremost by the EU – and together we call for this, to internationalize the issue of this border. Border protection is a vital task. The EU must commit itself to defending its borders..
Last week, several countries called on the EU to get involved.financially” in the construction of a line of defense, in a letter.
This line of defense would be part of a plan to protect against disinformation and migratory movements plausibly orchestrated by Russia.
