A commander of the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in Jenin told Tel Aviv Tribune that Qassam fighters confirmed the killing of an Israeli soldier and the wounding of others in an ambush in the eastern neighborhood.
The Qassam commander explained that what happened in the eastern neighborhood was an ambush of explosive devices prepared in advance to target the occupation vehicles, noting that the vehicles advanced after a combing operation, but the careful placement of the devices foiled the plan and exploded in the force.
