Israeli media dealt with signs of escalating tension in relations between Israel and Germany, considering that Berlin has begun to distance themselves significantly from supporting the war on the Gaza Strip, in a transformation of its description “radical”, amid indications of the loss of Tel Aviv, prominent supporters who have always supported its novel in the West.
Reports indicated that this transformation is no longer limited to the official positions in Berlin, but also included media and political figures as long as they were considered prominent supporters of Israel, to reveal an increasingly isolation facing Tel Aviv in the European arena.
In this context, the Israeli Channel 12 shed light on statements made by both the new German adviser, Frederick Mertz and his foreign minister during the past week, described as unprecedented, and clearly indicates that Israel “exceeded the limit” in its continuous war on the Gaza Strip.
The judicial affairs analyst on “Kan 11” Tamar Al -Mogh channel explained that these statements were accompanied by calls from within the ruling coalition in Germany to stop the export of weapons to Israel, a very sensitive development for Tel Aviv, which relies heavily on German military supplies.
An impressive absence
Almel added that some Israelis believe that American support is sufficient, but the reality – as it described – indicates that Germany is the second largest provider of Israel with weapons after Washington, and that the absence of this support would directly affect the army’s capabilities to continue the war.
While these official transformations interact, Hebrew channels also monitored what it described as “shocking change” in Western media stances who have always defended Israel, led by the famous British journalist Peres Morgan, who recently conducted a tense interview with the Israeli ambassador to London Tzipi Haoutubili.
Morgan reiterated a direct question about the number of children who were killed in Gaza, saying to Qoutoubili: “How many children have you killed?”
Morgan criticized the ambassador by saying that Israel is able to determine the number of those describing them as “Hamas terrorists” who killed them, but completely ignoring the number of children dead, adding, “So see how you know a number and do not know the other.”

Commenting on the interview, the presenter of political programs at Channel 12, Arad Nir, said that Morgan, who is known for his support for Israel “re -thought about his positions after watching the pictures coming from Gaza,” considering that this change carries an important indication.
For his part, journalist Uri Misagaf from the Haaretz newspaper commented on the interview by saying that Morgan – who described him as “the brave defender of Israel” since October 20, 2023 – seemed very excited during his conversation with Houtobili, even he expressed his shock and apologized for Israel’s positions.
Misagaf pointed out that the statements of Haoutubili, which were received in the interview, such as “This is a blood fir” and “I do not know the number of children who were killed”, was shocking to the Western public opinion, adding, “I wanted to cry over the children in Gaza, on ourselves, and what our leaders did, and the world’s view of us.”
Observers in Israel considered that the interview reflects a profound shift in the Western mood towards Israel, especially in Britain and Germany, noting that the loss of this support – media and political – may have long -term consequences for the international legitimacy that Tel Aviv has long relied on.

In the midst of these transformations, the developments of the field front of the Israeli media were not absent, as the “I4” channel reported that an Israeli youth named David Libby, 19, a civilian worker with a contracting company working for the Ministry of Defense – was killed in the bombing of the northern Gaza Strip.
According to the channel, David entered the morning of Jabalia in the north of the Strip with an engineering bulldozer as part of the army’s tasks, before he exploded with a ground mine who claimed his life, while the army decided not to be considered by his dead as he was not a recipient but a contracting civil worker.
The Channel Affairs correspondent on Channel 12, Nir Dfoury, explained the use of civilians to carry out engineering tasks as a result of the acute shortage of individuals and engineering mechanisms within the army, considering that this reveals a “real crisis among the Israeli army.”
Dafouri explained that the army has been forced to use external contractors to carry out tasks in the field, with the aim of covering the deficit and ensuring the implementation of operations on time, despite the security risks that may result from such arrangements.
