The management of Hamas survived the attempted assassination of Israel in the Qatari Doha capital, but at least six people were killed in the attack, according to an official statement from the Palestinian group.

In its first official statement on Tuesday evening, the Palestinian group said that Israel’s attack was intended to derail prisoners’ exchange talks and cease-fire negotiations to end the genocidal war of Israel against Gaza which killed more than 64,000 people.

“This once again reveals the criminal nature of the occupation and his desire to undermine every chance of achieving an agreement,” said Hamas.

The Palestinian group described the attack as “heinous crime, a blatant assault and a blatant violation of all international standards and laws”.

The group confirmed that at least six people, including the son and one of the aid of the head of Hamas, Khalil al-Hayya, were killed in the attack which attracted the world conviction. The Qatari Interior Ministry said that a security guard was one of the people killed.

Earlier, a member of the Hamas political office, Suhail Al-Hindi, said that the Palestinian group occupies the United States administration responsible for the attack, that the Qatari Foreign Ministry condemned “in the strongest terms”.

The Emir Sheikh of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani also condemned “the imprudent criminal attack” of Israel in the capital Doha during a telephone call with American president Donald Trump. The attack is “a blatant violation of its sovereignty and security …”, said Sheikh Tamim on Tuesday in a statement.

The leaders of Hamas, said Al-Hindi, met a positive perspective on the last proposal for the American ceasefire to end the war in Gaza.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent, Nida Ibrahim, said from Doha that the unprecedented attack on the city, which organized negotiations for a potential ceasefire in Gaza, reflected how Israel is “embracing” Israel “by being able to achieve a genocide and get away with it”.

The Hamas office was created in the country at the request of the United States to facilitate peace talks.

Saudi Arabia “denounced in the strongest terms of the brutal Israeli aggression and the flagrant violation of sovereignty of the fraternal state of Qatar”, while other Arab leaders have joined the condemnation of the Israeli attack.

The leaders of the United Kingdom and France also condemned the attack on Tuesday, with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer saying that this had violated the sovereignty of Qatar, while French President Emmanuel Macron described the attack as “unacceptable”.

The Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani described the attack as “state terrorism”.

Sheikh Mohammed clearly indicated that Israeli strikes “should not be overlooked”, saying that Qatar mobilizes all the tools to respond to the attack beyond declarations and convictions, including by forming a legal team to hold responsible Israel.

The Qatari Prime Minister suggested that countries in the Middle East must meet to brake in Israel. “Today, we have reached a turning point so that there is a response from the whole region against such barbaric conduct,” he said.

Trump informed Qatar before the Israeli attack

Explosions were reported in Doha during the first attack of this type by Israel in Qatar, a key mediator in the cease-fire talks between Israel and Hamas and which houses the largest American military base in the region, Al Udeid Airbase, which welcomes American troops.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed in a statement that the Israeli army had led to Doha on Tuesday against Hamas leaders. “Israel has launched it, Israel has managed it and Israel assumes its responsibility,” he said.

The press secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, told journalists that the administration of American president Donald Trump had been informed by the American army that Israel attacked Hamas, which “was unfortunately located in a section of Doha, the capital of Qatar”.

“Bombing unilaterally in Qatar, a sovereign nation and an ally close to the United States which works very hard and courageously take risks with us to negotiate peace, does not advance the objectives of Israel or America,” she said. “However, the elimination of Hamas, which has benefited from the misery of those who live in Gaza, is a worthy objective.”

Leavitt said Trump “immediately managed” Steve Witkoff’s special envoy to inform Qatar of the attack.

The White House said Trump had assured Qatari officials that such attacks will not be repeated.

“The president considers Qatar as a strong ally and a friend of the United States, and feels very bad about the site of this attack,” said Leavitt.

“The president also spoke with the Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar and thanked them for their support and friendship to our country,” she added. “He assured them that such a thing will not happen again on their soil.”

But Doha challenged Washington’s account. The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatari, Al-Ansari, rejected the idea that Qatar was warned in advance. He said that the only call received from an American official had come when the explosions were already changing the capital.
