3 Palestinians martyred, 1 Israeli soldier killed in West Bank | News

Three Palestinians were killed when an Israeli army drone bombed a car carrying them near the city of Tulkarm in the northern occupied West Bank. While the Israeli army announced the death of a soldier in a run-over attack, a Knesset member threatened to execute the perpetrator of the attack.

The official Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported that an Israeli drone bombed a car in the “Ezbet Al-Hajj Masoud” area near Tulkarm, causing it to completely catch fire.

For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced in a brief statement, “The arrival of 3 martyrs to Al-Israa Hospital as a result of the occupation’s bombing of a vehicle near Tulkarm.”

Palestinian media sites revealed the names of two of the martyrs: Imad al-Din Khader Shahada, nicknamed “the mayor,” one of the leaders of the Al-Quds Brigades in the Nur Shams camp in Tulkarm, and Salah Ammar Badou “Al-Mario.”

With the martyrdom of the three Palestinians, the total number of Palestinian martyrs in the West Bank rises to 702, in addition to 5,700 wounded, and more than 10,400 detainees since October 7, 2023.

On Tuesday, the Israeli occupation army stormed the city of Tulkarm and its camp again after withdrawing from it at dawn last Friday following a military operation that lasted 10 days.

Faisal Salama, deputy governor of Tulkarm, told Anadolu Agency that the occupation army “forced dozens of families to evacuate their homes towards the city, turning them into military barracks and installing snipers on their roofs.”

He pointed out that “the army is working to storm homes, confiscate cell phones from residents, detain them in one room and investigate them.”

The occupation army bombed a car in Tubas on Wednesday morning, resulting in the martyrdom of 5 resistance fighters.

Clashes and raids

In the same context, the occupation forces stormed the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya, and fired live bullets at the Palestinians. Clashes also took place between the resistance and the occupation forces during their storming of the city of Nablus.

In parallel with its devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, the Israeli occupation army has expanded its operations, and settlers have escalated their attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.

In Tubas, resistance fighters confronted the occupation forces that continue their operations in the city, targeting them with an explosive device in the town of Tayasir, east of Tubas. Armed clashes also took place between Palestinian resistance fighters and the Israeli army in several areas of the governorate, and the occupation army raided a number of homes and arrested two young men from the city.

On the dawn of August 28, the Israeli army began a large-scale military operation in the northern West Bank, which included the cities of Jenin and its camp, Tulkarm and its camps, the city of Tubas and the Far’a camp, and withdrew from them after 10 days.

On the other hand, the occupation army announced the killing of a soldier in a run-over operation carried out by a Palestinian near the city of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.

The army said in a statement, “The soldier, Sergeant Giri Gideon Hangal, who serves in the Nachshon Battalion (90) within the Kfir Brigade (infantry), was killed during a ramming attack.”

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that an Israeli was “seriously” injured in a run-over attack carried out by a gas tanker truck at the Givat Asaf settlement junction near Ramallah.

She added that the tanker driver was seriously injured by Israeli army bullets.

According to Channel 12, the driver is a resident of the town of Rafat near Ramallah and is named Hayel Issa Abdel Jaber Daif Allah (58 years old).

Israeli media reported that Knesset member from the Religious Zionism Party, Zvi Sukkot, stormed the hospital room where the perpetrator of the operation, Hael Deifallah, was lying, and threatened to execute him.

This operation comes days after a Jordanian truck driver shot dead three Israeli guards at the King Hussein Bridge crossing between the West Bank and Jordan.

With the soldier’s death today, Wednesday, the announced death toll of the Israeli army since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7th has risen to 709 officers and soldiers, including 342 since the beginning of the Israeli invasion of the Strip on the 27th of the same month.

While the number of wounded officers and soldiers reached 4,440, including 2,280 since the ground invasion of Gaza, according to data from the Israeli army website, which faces local accusations of concealing a large number of its dead and wounded.
