The Yisrael Hume newspaper quoted US officials as saying that there are very high possibilities for President Donald Trump to announce a comprehensive solution to the Gaza issue.
US officials said that this comprehensive solution includes offering a plan to end the war, and they mentioned that the solution is under discussion, and is developed in partial cooperation from Israel, and that it does not meet all its demands.
The officials told the newspaper that if such an agreement is reached, Israel may be presented as a fait accompli, explaining that one of the options is to grant Hamas leaders immunity from the assassination to persuade it to accept the deal.
US officials added that one of the other options is to ensure Hamas’s participation in the future civil leadership of the Gaza Strip.
According to Israel Hume, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will have to decide whether to accept the proposal and risk a crisis in his government coalition.
On the other hand, Yisrael Hume quoted an Israeli official as saying that Trump has no majority of the Senate to support an agreement that does not include Israel, or dedicated without accepting it.
The Israeli official said that the Americans inquired from Israel about its position, but they chose to proceed with the initiative.
Aid delivery
Meanwhile, the US State Department said, on Thursday, that a solution to the delivery of food aid to Gaza was “in move”, and that an advertisement will be issued soon, but it did not clarify the details of the plan.
European leaders and relief organizations criticized Israel’s plans to control the distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza and the use of special companies to deliver food to the population, two months after the army prevented the entry of supplies to the Strip.
According to Reuters, Israel has only a few details about its aid plans.
