The hour had exceeded two in the morning at dawn at dawn today, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, when the Israeli settlers from Haifa – who did not taste the most sleep due to the ongoing sirens – noticed a thunder -like sound.
What they heard in fact was only the latest alleys of Iranian missiles that were launched to penetrate the layers of the atmosphere at a speed of approximately 2 km per second.
Iranian television announced that the missiles used by the Revolutionary Guards for the first time are “Fattah” missiles, and that this is the eleventh stage of the sincere promise process 3, and that the missiles this time “are not subject to intercourse.”
Thus, the Iranian Tasnim Agency revealed a qualitative escalation in the confrontation between Iran and Israel compared to previous raids. The agency noted that these missiles have high speed speeds and destructive capabilities, which enable them to overcome the strongest air defense systems.
In a statement carried by the agency, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard warned that the upcoming strikes “will witness a broader use of sound missiles,” to put the world in front of an open scene on the possibility of escalation unless the Israeli raids stop on Iranian soil.
So we need to search for answers to the most important questions: What are the vocal hyper missiles? What are its types? What distinguishes it from other missile systems? What is the quality of an audio missile arsenal owned by Iran?
Hyper missiles
Technically, the term “sound hyper” is defined as every speed exceeding 5 Mach (6125 km per hour), five times the speed of sound. At these tremendous speeds, physics impose new facts; The most prominent of which is the intense heat caused by the rush of the missile or the vehicle through the thick atmosphere layers.
This heat, along with other powers unique to the vocal overall air environment, places these vehicles in front of huge engineering challenges. The innovation of air vehicles is able to withstand these conditions require advanced manufacturing materials, advanced payment systems, and large investments.
So, an urgent question shows here: What makes the missile “acoustic hyper”?
Initially, it should be emphasized that the speed alone is not enough to define the “Hyper Voice” missile.
On the extent of date, many ballistic missiles exceeded the 5 -Mach barrier in one of its journey, some of which reached more than 20 Mach during the rise or return across the upper class of the atmosphere, such as modern intercontinental ballistic missiles, which often fly at high speeds. However, traditional ballistic missile classification is not suitable as “sound hyper” weapons in the modern concept.

Where the essential difference lies in the ability to maneuver, and the time spent by the missile at acoustic excessive speeds within the atmosphere. As many experts, such as the members of the American missile defense alliance and the Russian Council for International Relations, agree that the modern excessive weapon combines a speed that exceeds 5 Mach and the susceptibility to the horizontal and vertical maneuver during the air aviation.
This maneuvering capacity makes the hyper missiles a very difficult sound than intercepting ballistic missiles with fixed tracks.
Types of vocal hyper missiles
Voice missiles are divided into two main types, each of which is characterized by specific properties and uses. The first of them is vocal hyper cruise missiles, which are powered throughout its journey, and maintains a stable vocal hyper excessive speed on the margins of the atmosphere.
Its advanced engines allow her to fly at low or medium altitudes, with high maneuvering to avoid air defense systems.
As for the second type, it is the vocal hyperlink, which is often released from ballistic missile heads, rising to high layers of the atmosphere, then separated and slips towards the ground at sound excessive excessive speeds.
Its advantage lies in its ability to change its course during flying, which complicates its interception, unlike the traditional warheads that follow expected arches that facilitate the ability of air defense systems to target them.
What distinguishes it?
As for any traditional ballistic missile, even if it exceeds the speed of sound, the enemy radars are not forced to follow it accurately moment by moment, but it is sufficient to monitor its path at the moment of its launch and then it is able to predict its path, as it remains fixed from the moment of launch and does not change.
The missile is launched in a wide arc path, leaving the layers of the atmosphere towards space, then returning to penetrate the atmosphere again before it hit its target. This expected path allows hostile radars accurately calculating the collision point, and then activating the defense systems according to this prior perception.

Therefore, as we mentioned, the speed alone is not an entry card to the vocal missile club. What distinguishes modern vocal hyper weapons is their ability to constantly fly on the atmosphere in a more high area than Patriot missiles, and more low than early warning radars, with the ability to implement unexpected dodges.
Thus, the missile becomes able to bypass the defensive defensive missiles quickly, in addition to overcoming the areas of hostile radar coverage, and wrapping the obstacles of any kind, whether mountains, buildings, or others.
The second feature, and perhaps the most important, is that the optimum missile can change its direction to low paths close to the surface of the earth, maintaining its huge speed. As a result, hostile early warning radars do not pick up warning signals until very shortly before the strike arrives, until the time between discovering the missile and activating the land defenses is almost shorter than the time necessary for the missile to reach its target, which makes the response almost impossible.
However, the development of effective sound missiles remains one of the most complex technical challenges in modern armament. It requires the production of vehicles capable of tolerance of huge heat, maintaining air stability and transferring an effective load, continuous scientific and experimental progress.
Therefore, after decades of research, a few countries still have real or experimental capabilities in this field, and they are limited to four countries, Russia, the United States, China and Iran.
Fateah missile 1
Iran officially mentioned its own missiles that achieve the criteria of the vocal weapon that we mentioned. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards developed them based on the ballistic missile technology that uses solid fuel, with adjustments that give them the ability to maneuver and maintain high speeds.
The first of these two missiles, and it bears the name “Fattah 1”, was revealed in June 2023 as the first Iranian excessive vocal missile, which is the beginning of Iran’s entry into this exclusive club. According to Iranian statements, the “Fattah 1” missile can reach speeds ranging from 13 and 15 Mach, with a range of about 1400 km.
It is classified as a medium -range ballistic missile equipped with a maneuvering return vehicle, that is, a warhead capable of adjusting its path directed during the flight.

The missile consists of two parts; The first part consists of a 10 -meter -long engine, and it has the ability to push the missile at a high speed inside and outside the atmosphere, and is separated from the warhead at a distance of hundreds of kilometers from the desired target.
As for the second part, which is 3 meters long and 60 centimeters, it is the part that carries the directed military head and contains a spherical engine and a moving nozzle that enables it to maneuver in all directions.
Its mission begins after the separation of the first part, that is, before reaching the area subject to the enemy threats, so it begins to rotate and maneuver in a complex path in different directions and heights to escape from air defense systems.
The missile depends on the guidance on the autonomous navigation system with the possibility of updating via satellite, as is the case in many modern Iranian missiles, and this allows the path to be corrected during flying.
The “Fattah 1” missile is that it works entirely with solid fuel, giving it the feature of the speed preparation for launch compared to liquid fuel missiles. Official registrations show the moment the missile was revealed in the presence of the Revolutionary Guards leaders and the Iranian President in June 2023, indicating that it had a flight test earlier in the same year.
According to the official time sequence, the development of “Fattah 1” was announced for the first time in November 2022 during an event on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of Brigadier Hassan Tahrani Model, who is known today as the father of the Iranian missile program.
The missile was filmed in the Iranian media as a qualitative leaf in missile technology, while emphasizing that it is carefully directed “and it cannot be destroyed by another missile” thanks to its maneuvering ability at changing rises and paths. Iran also claims that it can overcome the most advanced air defense systems in the United States and Israel.

Fattah 2 missile
Iran has also announced a developed release called “Fattah 2”, and revealed this model in November 2023 during the Gravity of the Revolutionary Guards in the presence of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. During its disclosure ceremony, Iranian officials stressed that “Fattah 2” is a fully local producer and a unique technical achievement.
Official reports and analysts’ opinions indicate that the missile exterior is similar to the original version of it, but the Revolutionary Guards redesigned its war head to become a sliding head with a small independent engine. With this, the “Fattah 2” missile becomes a two -stage system: the first is a solid -wheel drive reinforcement similar to the user in the “Fattah 1” version, and the second is a specialized warship, an excessive vote, separated after the launch and slides at a high speed towards the target.
According to the available data, the war head in the “Fattah 2” missile is equipped with a small missile engine that works with liquid fuel in its base, and gives the head a last boost immediately after the separation, then continues to slide it at vocal hyperactivity speeds across the atmosphere.

In this way, it becomes the type of second that we mentioned “the sliding compounds of excessive vocal”, a vehicle launched through a missile, then separated to rotate and slide at a speed exceeding 5 Mach.
There is not yet many official statements on the field performance of the “Fattah 2” missile, but some analysts, based on Iranian statements, are estimated at the speed of the war head during the slip stage by between 5 and 10 Mach, and some other analyzes indicate that the number “10 Mach” appeared in some sources, but it is not clear how much it continues to maintain this speed. But it is clear that it is clear to always fly at speeds It exceeds 5 Mach.
As for the range, the Iranian media hinted that the new version may exceed the original version of 1,400 km to reach the limits of 1500 to 1,800 km, although there are independent estimates that the engine has not changed fundamentally, which suggests the range remaining close to 1400 km.
The steering system in this version also continues to rely on self -deficiency navigation with the possibility of updating the path, and the war head carries a traditional shipment similar to that used in “Fattah 1”.
The essential “Fattah 2” feature lies in its sliding warhead, which is capable of maneuvering, allowing the path to be changed during the landing, and hitting the goals of unexpected directions and at a high speed. This type of warhead constitutes a huge challenge to missile defense systems, because it does not follow a traditional ballistic pathway that is predicted.
In April 2024, according to information published by the official Iranian Press TV channel, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard succeeded in using the “Fattah 2” missile in practice when it successfully targeted sensitive Israeli military infrastructure.
ABC News confirmed, quoting an American official, that the strike hit two air bases in Israel, and the Nevatim Air Force Base was severely damaged. The targets included a vital infrastructure, including a military transport plane and aircraft and storage facilities.
Given the future, Iran is likely to continue its endeavors to develop its vocal overall missiles, amid reports indicating trends towards releases with a longer period of more than 1400 km or with heavier warships. It may also seek to integrate advanced guidance systems or apply modern miniaturization techniques with the aim of raising performance efficiency and improving maneuvering capabilities and accuracy in hitting goals.
In the end, will the excessive missiles be resolved the sound of war? The answer will be not likely, the wars are fought with alliances and logistics, and timing may be the most important factors! These missiles will determine the rhythm of the war because the Israelis, who had previously hours to expect or respond to any threat, have needed minutes, and now the seconds may not help them.
