The World Health Organization accused Israel of launching “unreasonable” attacks on a hospital in the besieged Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to the ambulance service of the Palestinian Red Crescent, at least 5 civilians were martyred in the attacks, including a 5-day-old infant, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote on the “X” electronic platform late Tuesday night.
A total of 14,000 people were transferred to Al Amal Hospital. Many of them have since left.
“The health system in Gaza is already in a miserable state, with health and relief workers constantly being thwarted in their life-saving efforts due to hostilities,” Ghebreyesus added.
“I add my voice to international calls for an immediate ceasefire, including urgent action to ensure the rapid and unhindered flow of food, medical supplies, water and other essential items to millions of civilians forced to live in unspeakable conditions of hunger, the spread of disease, and lack of hygiene and sanitation,” he wrote in his tweet. “healthy.”
People in the Gaza Strip are still receiving only a fraction of the aid supplies they were able to receive before the war. The WHO director wrote that every effort must be made to protect health facilities, medical teams and patients.
