The World Food Program (WFP) said that more than a quarter of Gaza’s population has lost their supplies and is at risk of starvation.
Arif Hussein, the programme’s chief economist, warned of a massive famine that could occur in the next six months if humanitarian access to the sector continues to be restricted.
Hussein described the crisis as “unprecedented,” and said that the situation “represents our worst fears, because almost everyone in Gaza suffers from hunger,” stressing that one in every 4 people suffers from hunger.
