Pictures of satellites showed that dozens of US military aircraft were withdrawn from the runway of many in Qatar, one of the largest American bases in the Middle East.
Between 5 and 19 June 2025, the American base in Qatar was almost completely emptied of the visible military aircraft, according to satellite pictures of satellites belonging to the “Planet Labs BBC” analyzed by the French Press Agency.
There were about 40 military aircraft suspended on the al-Qaeda runway on June 5, including large equipment holders, carriers, reconnaissance aircraft and special operating planes of the C-130 Hervis, but in a form taken on June 19, only 3 visual transport aircraft remained.
On the other hand, “as a precautionary measure and in light of the continuous regional hostilities”, the United States advised “employees to be very careful” and “temporarily restricting access” to the base of many, according to a memorandum dated Thursday published on the website of the American embassy in Qatar.
These decisions are expected to decide the US president within the next two weeks, according to the White House, his position on a possible American intervention alongside Israel against Iran, which may respond by targeting the American bases in the region.
