Once a month, the Coiffure du coeur association sets up its ephemeral salon in 9 French cities. Objective: to style the hair of the most deprived during a special moment of relaxation.
As soon as night falls, the association team “Heart hairstyle” prepares to welcome their clients, scissors and comb in hand. In this improvised outdoor salon, people in need can come and get their hair cut once a month and share a meal.
“It’s great, it’s great, it’s really great to have people like that helping people who can’t afford it.” enthuses Myriam, a beneficiary.
“I am without resources and for nine months I have had no income…Having a hairdresser_like this one for free is really practical” explains Ludovic, a regular at this ephemeral show.
Lindsay, educator and volunteer hairstylist adds: “What I like is seeing faces light up, it’s nice! And then there are people who are used to coming now, so it’s great. It’s a moment when we can talk.”
Created in 2018 in Toulon, the association has evolved and now offers its services in nine cities in France, and has already helped thousands of disadvantaged people to get their hair done.
Comforting words, conversations and smiles are also exchanged during these moments. Some clients feel alone, others are victims of domestic violence or suffer from various addictions. Between kindness and confidence, these traveling hair salons bring people together and warm hearts.
