Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi ruled out the success of the Israeli occupation army in eliminating the resistance factions in the northern Gaza Strip after announcing the start of a new military operation in the region.
Al-Duwairi, a retired Jordanian general, said that the new occupation operation aims to implement the “generals’ plan” to control the northern Gaza Strip absolutely and empty its population.
Israeli Army Radio reported late last month that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Yoav Galant approved a study of operations that could be carried out in Gaza on the basis of the “generals’ plan,” which stipulates a siege of the northern Gaza Strip, stopping humanitarian aid, and evacuating the population.
Al-Duwairi expressed his conviction that the Israeli army will not succeed in its plan to displace the residents of the northern Gaza Strip, stressing at the same time the presence of resistance elements in the region after human and material rehabilitation.
The military expert said, “Whoever was unable to eliminate the resistance over the course of 365 days through major ground operations in the first and second phases and security raids in the third phase will not eliminate it with this new attack.”
Al-Duwairi warned that the previous occupation operations were aimed at pursuing fighters and political and military resistance leaders, in addition to searching for the network of tunnels and detained prisoners.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Israeli occupation army announced that its forces were encircling the Jabalia area after an assessment that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) was rebuilding its capabilities there after months of fighting and air strikes.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, in turn announced a series of operations, such as the detonation of a high-explosive device in an Israeli Merkava 4 tank, with a number of soldiers around it, east of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
It indicated that it also targeted the evacuation group with an anti-personnel missile while it was trying to transport the dead and wounded soldiers
Al-Qassam announced the detonation of a pre-rigged house in an Israeli force of 10 soldiers, leaving one dead and wounded in the “Al-Hawuz Al-Turki” area, west of the Jabalia camp, in addition to targeting a “Merkava” tank with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell in the same area.
The military wing of Hamas also announced the detonation of a number of ground devices in an Israeli troop carrier and two D-9 military bulldozers in the northwestern areas of Gaza City, and an Israeli soldier was sniped east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.
