The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the previous battles in the Central Governorate in the Gaza Strip were concentrated in the northern part of it, describing them as a failure, as the occupation forces were forced to withdraw from the Bureij and Nuseirat camps.
But Al-Duwairi – during his analysis of the military scene in Gaza – pointed out that the operations in the Central Governorate are still in their beginnings, and it is not possible to say with certainty or predict whether they will develop towards storming the depths of Bureij and Deir al-Balah.
He stressed the need to wait for the general framework of the operation and the nature of the fighting during the next 24-36 hours to determine the form, scope, and possibility of developing the operation.
He pointed out that the previous operations were led by the “99” Israeli Military Division, then the “36” Division, and no deep entry occurred, despite the occupation army’s previous attempt to circumvent from the west and south of Al-Maghazi camp towards Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir Al-Balah.
The military expert pointed out that Deir al-Balah did not witness decisive battles, and no damage was caused to its defending battalion, pointing out the Israeli statements that said that the operation was qualitative and based on intelligence information.
Regarding this, Al-Duwairi says that intelligence information is the basis of planning, but the occupation army fell from failure to failure, noting that the biggest failure was last October 7 at the operational, tactical and strategic levels, up to the complex ambushes, which the resistance carries out on an almost daily basis.
He revealed the paradox of assigning the task of leading the new military operation to the 98th Division, and said that – based on previous experiences – it was not at a combat level.
He added that brigades from other military divisions were sent to work under the command of the “98th” Division in the new operation, after sending the Kfir Brigade from the “99th” Division, and the 7th Brigade from the “36th” Division to Deir al-Balah and Bureij.
The Israeli occupation army had announced that the “98” Division had begun a military operation east of Bureij and east of Deir al-Balah in the Central Governorate, in conjunction with the continuation of the activities of the “162” and “99” Divisions in the south and center of the Gaza Strip.
