American political scientist Stephen Walt says Israel has changed over the years, but Biden’s policies are stuck in the past.

U.S. support for Israel’s war on Gaza makes the country look ineffective and hypocritical to the rest of the world, according to Stephen Walt, a Harvard University professor and co-author of The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy.

Walt tells host Steve Clemons that Israel and U.S.-Israel relations have changed over the decades, but that U.S. President Joe Biden is clinging to a vision of Israel formed in the West in the 1990s. 1970.

By rejecting a ceasefire, the United States appears to be “encouraging conflict” instead of being a peacemaker, Walt says, especially since Israel has no political strategy to resolve the issue Palestinian.
