Why is the occupation focusing on Jenin camp? A military expert answers | News

Military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, believes that the Israeli occupation is focusing very heavily on the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank, because it possesses intelligence information that enables it to infiltrate and carry out assassinations and arrests.

He stressed – in an analysis of the military scene in Gaza – that the Israeli military operations taking place in Jenin are similar to security operations that depend on accurate intelligence information, noting that they are expanding to include all parts of the city of Jenin.

He confirmed that the occupation army, through the intelligence information in its possession, carried out an infiltration operation today into Zababdeh in Jenin.

Wissam Khazem, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Jenin area, was killed along with two others who were with him by a drone missile.

The occupation army continues its military operation in Jenin, Tubas and Tulkarm in the northern West Bank, in an operation described as the largest in the West Bank since 2002.

In the neighborhoods of Jenin camp, violent clashes continued between Palestinian resistance fighters and Israeli occupation forces. Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that the occupation forces sent military reinforcements and bulldozers to the camp, amid intense drone flights in the sky of the city and its camp.

According to the military and strategic expert, the occupation aims, through its military operation in the West Bank, to prevent this region from turning into an effective front in the coming period.

Regarding the developments in the Gaza Strip, Colonel Al-Falahi explained that the withdrawal of the Israeli military division “98” from Khan Yunis (southern Gaza Strip) and Deir al-Balah (central Gaza Strip) means that the military operation that lasted 22 days has now ended, in addition to the fact that the occupation army intends to have a truce for 3 days that does not include the areas where Israeli forces are deployed.

Colonel Al-Falahi suggested that the Israeli withdrawal from Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah was related to the Israeli army, because the commander of the 98th Division revealed that the withdrawal was related to preparing to carry out what he considered other duties.

On the other hand, Al-Falahi referred to the issue of disagreements within Israel, and said that the army had a very big say in making political decisions, but the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu violated this matter, as the military and security establishment makes recommendations to the political side and they are not taken into account.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that the meeting of the security cabinet regarding the Philadelphi axis witnessed a verbal confrontation and shouting between Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
