Why does the occupation target young people with a policy of deportation from Al-Aqsa Mosque? | policy

Jerusalemite activist and documentarian Ramzi Al-Abbasi talks about his deportation from Al-Aqsa Mosque after his release from Israeli prisons, explaining that the occupation has a number of goals, including persecuting young people and keeping them away from the mosque.

Al-Abbasi adds that he was deported for 4 months, of which about 3 months have passed, but he does not rule out renewing the deportation order for additional months.

In his explanation of the occupation’s targeting of Jerusalem’s youth with its policy of deportation from Al-Aqsa, he says that the occupation’s goal is “to remove the Jerusalemites from the mosque’s courtyards, open the way for settlers’ orgies and perform their rituals, and stabilize the temporal and spatial division.”

He stated that “the deportations affected many girls, young men, mothers, and the elderly, with the aim of emptying Al-Aqsa Square of the Jerusalemite presence in order to pass the religious Zionist plans.”

He referred to the so-called “precautionary deportations” that often take place during the Jewish holidays and affect dozens of Jerusalemites.

There are no accurate statistics available on the number of those deported from Al-Aqsa Mosque, but Jerusalem Governorate data indicate that 19 deportation decisions were documented, including 13 deportation decisions from Al-Aqsa Mosque last August.
