Why does Manchester City fear the divorce of his coach Pep Guardiola? | sports

An atmosphere of anxiety prevails in Manchester City, in light of British media reports that spoke about the official separation between his Spanish coach Pep Guardiola and his wife, Christina Sera, after a marriage that lasted nearly 30 years.

According to The Sun, the divorce is imminent, and its procedures may be completed within the next few weeks, with an official announcement expected next month. This began as a friendly secession, which later developed into tension among “complex negotiations” between the two parties.

Reports indicated that the decision to secede has been taken since last December, shortly after Guardiola signed his contract with City until 2027, a decision that was said to be a decisive turning point for Crystina, who does not like to live in Manchester and prefers Spain.

The two parties agreed to attach a lawyer to avoid any legal differences, in reference to a desire to end matters with the least possible harm.

Christina – 52 years old and owned a fashion company – was unable to adapt to the atmosphere of Manchester, and has returned to Spain five years ago.

The couple recently appeared in a concert separately, accompanied by their two sons Maria (24 years old) and Marrius (22 years old) without gathering common photos.

Although some of the media had previously talked about an attempt to reconcile between Guardiola and his wife after a short trip to Barcelona during Easter, close sources confirmed that this attempt did not pay its fruits.

This development comes at a sensitive time for the Spanish coach, who has been going through the worst results since he took the leadership of City.

Despite his confirmation of his intention to leave the club in 2027 in order to “pay attention to his own affairs”, the separation may cast a shadow over the coach’s dressing rooms and balance in the coming months, which the English club fears.
