Political and military analysts agreed that the increase in attacks by Palestinian resistance factions against the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip refutes the allegations made by the statements of the Israeli government, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his army leaders, and they pointed out that the performance of the resistance has now become more powerful and effective.

According to the military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, the statements of: Netanyahu, his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy, and occupation army spokesman Daniel Hagari were proven to be untrue and for political purposes, especially when they claimed to dismantle 19 battalions of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Al-Duwairi added that the resistance is providing visual proof after the factions’ joint operations room was activated operationally and not just in coordination, indicating that the fighting was developed according to the “Desert Fish” pattern, with fighters appearing and then disappearing, using intimidation and shock.

Regarding the reasons for the increase in the frequency of resistance attacks and the increase in their strength and effectiveness, the military expert confirmed that the resistance resorted to the process of absorbing the shock in Rafah in the south and Jabalia in the north by entering the occupation army and then attacking its vehicles, while the latter only succeeded in destroying and committing massacres.

Also among the reasons – according to Major General Al-Duwairi – is the rehabilitation of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, in the northern Gaza Strip, and reducing them from 12 battalions to 8 with combat efficiency that may reach 85%, with the aim of re-managing the defensive battle and expanding the scope of its responsibilities.

The military expert devoted space to talking about the new resistance tactics after the confrontation was initially from the first line of the defensive lines, but now it differs by allowing the occupation forces to advance and rush in large numbers and then deal with them with specific operations, employing explosive devices, and exiting from the mouths of attack tunnels, etc.

“Interest in the media product”

In turn, political and strategic affairs researcher Saeed Ziyad said that the resistance is advancing and not retreating, and Hamas is changing its tactics like a chameleon, in a strategic direction message to the Gazan community and the Arab and Islamic peoples.

Ziad confirmed that the resistance operations rooms are operating at full capacity, and have become interested in media details and producing a high-quality product that is evident through the speed of filming, compiling and producing videos.

This means – according to the researcher – that the command and organizational chains are currently working at full capacity and even better than they were fighting for previously, as evidenced by the results of the third battle for the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in eastern Gaza, and also the second battle for the Jabalia camp.

He explained that there is a process of restoration and change in the resistance’s tactics and its media system, which prompted Israeli Defense Minister Gallant to give a press conference, terrified by what he called “the military rule of Gaza due to the fierce battles in Rafah, Jabalia, and Al-Zaytoun.”

According to the researcher, the possibility of military rule in Gaza is impossible because the occupation army rejects the idea due to its fear and exhaustion in urban and gang warfare, and the stagnant situation.

He cited Gallant’s statements as evidence when he said that there were four imagined endings to the war: chaos, the survival of Hamas as an authority, an alternative force, and military rule, which he said was the worst of all.

“The illusion of occupation”

For his part, Professor of Political Science at An-Najah Palestinian University, Dr. Raed Nairat, said that the political leadership of the occupation has been living in an illusion since the first day of the battle, and is trying to turn it into reality.

Nairat stated that the resistance in Gaza – before the battle of Rafah – was portrayed as having ended and only the last stop remained to recover the prisoners, pointing out that there is a paradox between reality and what the occupation leadership says, which stems from the ideological perceptions of Netanyahu and his ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.

The Palestinian academic pointed out that there is full awareness in the Israeli military establishment of the plans of the right-wing that seeks to occupy Gaza and keep the army there, which means exhausting it and incurring heavy costs.

The military occupation of Gaza is a trap for the Israeli army – according to Nairat – who renewed his reference to the division in the Israeli official establishment between Netanyahu and his right-wing coalition, and Gallant, who realizes that the army is experiencing restlessness, and feels that it is drowned in the mud of Gaza and is fighting without a goal.
