Why did the Egyptian Play AI Mita choose in her race with “Oben AI”? | technology

In the past few days, Bloomberg has published a “Mita” acquisition of a company called “Play Ai”, a startup in the field of audio content generation of text using artificial intelligence, founded in 2022 by Egyptian engineers.

This acquisition comes to be the latest in the “dead” spending on artificial intelligence techniques in the hope of building a team of supernatural intelligence scientists to the company in order to enhance its endeavors in this sector, but who is the “Play AI” that “Mita” acquired?

“Play AI” and a dream to enrich the audio content

The Play AI was born in June 2022 in California, United States, although its founder Mahmoud Fal pepper was born in Egypt and started his working life there.

Mahmoud Palp pepper comes from the company and its founder from an ancient engineering background, as he completed his studies at the College of Engineering at Mansoura University in 2012, specifically the Department of Electronic Engineering and Communications Engineering, and immediately started work in the Egyptian NewThinsers for publications, then moved to work for the company “Dubizzle” in 2015 and continued for it for a year 2020 before moving to work in “WhatsApp” in 2021 until 2022 before he left and devoted to his company “Play AI” completely, as shown in his “LinkedIn” account.

The Crunchbase website, which is interested in following up startups and offered their statistics that the Play AI won two financing during the year 2023 and 2024 with a total value of $ 23 million, before the “dead” acquired it.

Mahmoud Fla pepper in one of his interviews with the “500 Global” channel (500 Global) says that the main reason that made him establish the company is the absence of the audio content of some of the materials he wanted to listen to, as well as the geographical restrictions placed on some types of audio content, as it was always preferred to listen to audio clips instead of reading.

So he sought to overcome this challenge and the ability to reach any audio content he desires and generates in any language and with high accuracy that makes it similar to the content registered professionally, as the quality of the audio content was the main goal that he focused on in his company.

The company’s website indicates that many major international companies are adopted, including the famous “Airbus” aircraft, “Ford”, “Hyundai” and other prominent companies.

What happens to the company after a “dead” acquisition of it?

The Bloomberg report did not clarify the value of the deal to acquire the Play AI company, but it clearly stated that the entire company team is moving to work inside the “dead” within its new artificial intelligence factory.

Mahmoud Peplop, Executive Director and founder of the Play AI company, studied at Mansoura University and worked for several years with Egyptian companies (social media)

The report also added that the new team is working under the command of Johan Shawwik, who joined “Mita” recently after working in another artificial intelligence company to generate sound, which is “Sesameai”.

The report referred to an internal note that announced the acquisition that included praising the “Play AI” team and being appropriate to work with various “dead” products, so we may see the advantage of generating voices for ads and videos in “Meta” advertising campaigns.

“Mita” and the artificial intelligence race

The report indicates that “Mita” decided to accelerate its steps in the artificial intelligence sector, in the hope of catching the competition, whether it was from “Oben AI” or other companies, by strengthening the company’s artificial intelligence teams through acquisition and appointing more artificial intelligence experts.

The company has so far spent billions of dollars to bring more experts and skills in the artificial intelligence sector, including Alexander Wang, founder of “Skil AI”, which “Mita” bought 49% of its shares for 14 billion dollars with the requirement of Wang to become responsible for the company’s new artificial intelligence team.

It also made offers that are difficult to reject to many workers in “Oben AI” and “Google” and other companies in order to join them, and some of these offers apparently succeeded with Schalke, who left “Sisi AI” and joined “Mita”.

Some reports indicated that “Mita” is hurrying to build a new data center with a capacity that exceeds 5 GB to keep pace with the requirements of artificial intelligence in the company, and although the work is still in the center, the company started using tents to accommodate servers and accelerate the work of the center.

But do these “dead” endeavors succeed and put them on the map of competition in the field of artificial intelligence? Or does a social media platform company still provide some artificial intelligence services?
