What prompted Trump to change his position on famine in Gaza within 48 hours? | policy

The sudden shift in US President Donald Trump’s position on denying the existence of a famine in the Gaza Strip has sparked widespread controversy over the real motives behind this fundamental change in the American discourse.

Trump expressed his shock from the conditions in which children and their mothers live in Gaza, stressing that their vision is a terrible starvation, in a remarkable and contradictory statement of his previous statements about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Trump said in statements on the plane during his return from Scotland, that everyone believes that the situation in Gaza is terrible, except for those who were harsh or crazy.

This change, which occurred in just two days, raised deep questions about the nature of American policy towards the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the sector for months.

In an attempt to explain this transformation, the American Republican Party’s strategic analyst Adolfo Franco presented an explanation that focuses on the human side of Trump, noting that the American president, despite his harsh image, has a heart of Lina when it comes to the suffering of people.

He stressed that Trump received a set of reports and data that attest to the difficult situation in the region, which prompted him to change his position.

The American analyst continued his interpretation of focusing on the strategic dimension of the situation, as he believes that global sympathy gradually shifted from the issue of prisoners to the issue of distributing aid and famine.

Franco warned that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is working to exploit the humanitarian situation in its favor in the region, and that there is a great emotion in Europe and America towards this issue, stressing that the only way to solve this dilemma is to introduce aid to Gaza under strict international control.

Escape

On the other hand, the Secretary -General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Dr. Mustafa Al -Barghouthi, rejected this interpretation, stressing that the issue has nothing to do with the kindness of the heart, but rather an escape from the scandal that ravages Israel and the United States.

Al -Barghouti emphasized that America cannot now evade accusation of participating in genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass sanctions, including starving the Palestinian people.

To support his position, Al -Barghouti provided a detailed analysis of the multiple murder mechanisms in Gaza, explaining that the killing is taking place with many means begin with the continuous shelling that results in daily 130 to 150 new martyrs and 300 to 400 wounded, noting that most of the weapons used come from the United States.

He added that the killing is also carried out by starvation and diseases when Israel prevents Gaza from Gaza, electricity, and energy sources, and epidemics by preventing the delivery of children’s shelters for 150 days.

The official data confirms the size of the humanitarian catastrophe described by Barghouti, where the World Food Program said that the numbers confirm that Gaza is facing a danger due to the hunger crisis, and that the time is running out to launch a comprehensive humanitarian response.

In a statement, the program added that one in every 3 people in Gaza spends days without food, and 75% face emergency levels of hunger, noting that about 25% of the sector’s population suffers from famine -like conditions.

Based on this reality, the academic and expert in Israeli affairs, Dr. Muhannad Mustafa, agreed with the evaluation that Israel is facing a crisis in managing the situation, but he focused on the strategic side of the Israeli failure.

Mustafa explained that Israel believed that it could starve the population in the Gaza Strip as a political tool to pressure Hamas and the subjugation of the Palestinian people, considering that what is happening is the largest systematic and organized starvation in modern history.

Israel’s involvement

Mustafa pointed out how Israel was involved in this policy, believing that the world will be silent and that American support allows it to starve in this methodological way.

He pointed out that Israel is now living in an illusion, considering that all its problem with Gaza is a propaganda problem and not fundamental, which reflects a profound moral decline in Israeli thinking.

Regarding the stalled negotiation file, Al -Barghouti stressed that the negotiations were already suspended and that what was stopped by the American side before Israel.

He criticized what he described as the misleading and incorrect statement issued by US officials about Hamas’s responsibility for disrupting negotiations, stressing that the American side announced the withdrawal of its delegation and ruined the negotiation process.

Al -Barghouti rejected allegations about Hamas exploitation of aid, citing the statements of the United Nations World Food Agency, Mrs. Cindy McCain, who refutes these accusations.

He explained that throwing aid from the air does not solve any problem, but rather holds it, noting that the last process of dropping aid from the air led to the killing of Palestinians when the aid fell on their heads.

For his part, Al -Barghouti made two practical proposals to end the crisis, directing them to the American president directly.

The first proposal is to inform Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is required by the International Criminal Court, to stop all weapons from Israel and not to use US defense batteries to help Israel in air defense.

The second proposal is to invite the Security Council to meet and support a decision to stop the war on Gaza without using the American veto, stressing that the implementation of these two measures will push Netanyahu to stop the war immediately.
