What impact could the latest ICJ ruling have on Israel? | Israeli-Palestinian conflict news

The UN Supreme Court has ruled that Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian territory is illegal.

Israeli settlements, illegal under international law, have been steadily expanding into Palestinian territory for years.

Today, the United Nations Supreme Court says it is time for Israel to stop, change course and repair the damage.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled that the Israeli occupation is illegal and fuels rising violence.

However, the court’s findings are not legally binding and the Israeli government has ignored previous decisions.

Will the ICJ’s advisory opinion then have practical implications?
