The military and strategic expert, Brigadier Elias Hanna, said that the selection of the Israeli occupation army for the Kissovim crossing as an outlet for land expansion in the Gaza Strip, is part of a military strategy based on a plan to divide the sector into 5 offensive axes.

Brigadier Hanna, in an analysis of the military scene in the Strip, said that this division is mentioned in the strategy of the “five fingers” that Ariel Sharon was adopted, and in practice it means anatomy of the sector into parts that are easy to control in the field, and then weaken the ability of the resistance to move between its regions.

He pointed out that the Kissovim crossing has a double strategy, as it allows progress towards the areas of the center and the south, such as the city of Al -Qarara and Khan Yunis, and opens the road towards Deir Al -Balah, which he described as a soft side of the Palestinian resistance.

Hanna considered that the entry of the occupation forces towards the central Gaza Strip is a remarkable development, given that this region -contrary to Khan Yunis or Jabalia -has not witnessed wide wild military operations since the war began, which reflects a shift in the path of land incursions.

Gateon vehicles plan

He believed that the current operation comes within the second stage of the “Gaveron vehicles” plan, pointing out that this designation is related to religious meanings in the Israeli military doctrine, where the “vehicle” refers to the tank, similar to other names used in previous wars such as “the pillar of the sky” to fly and “swords” for individual weapons.

Regarding the nature of the land incursion, Brigadier Hanna stressed that what is happening is not yet up to the level of a large -scale process, as no formations have yet been paid, but the land participation is limited to the moment at the level of a battalion or less, in exchange for an intense dependence on the air boiling.

He explained that the Israeli plan prepared by the Chief of Staff of the Occupation Army, Eyal Zamir, stipulates 3 stages that take about a year, starting with a partial process over a period of 3 months, followed by the completion of control of the entire sector within 9 months, through a fight estimated by the military leadership at a level of 6 brigades in total.

He stressed that the intensive air strikes are used to compensate for the limited land forces, noting that the first stage focused on targeting the resistance fighters who were preparing to repel the ground invasion, while the second stage seeks to displace civilians under fiery pressure.

Targeting resistance leaders

Hanna also indicated that the raids were used in which about 40 supercar bomb Bonker Paster or “Blue 109”, which are the same bombs that were previously used to target the Secretary -General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, in an attempt to destroy the resistance infrastructure, and assassinate prominent resistance leaders such as Muhammad Al -Sinwar.

Regarding field developments in the northern Gaza Strip, he said that the operations there aim to cut the front and isolate areas such as Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun, to force the resistance to spread and engage in more than one axis, which exhausts its combat capabilities and prevents them from focusing at one point.

The Israeli occupation army announced yesterday, Friday, expanding its collective destruction in the Gaza Strip, and began launching widespread strikes as part of what he called the “Gahita vehicles” campaign with the aim of “achieving all the goals of the war, including the liberation of the kidnappers and the defeat of the (Islamic Resistance Movement) Hamas”, as he put it.

According to the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation on May 5, the process of Gaveron vehicles aims to occupy the entire Gaza, and said that the operation is likely to continue for several months, and includes “the complete evacuation of the residents of the Gaza Strip from the fighting areas, including north of Gaza, to the areas of the southern Gaza Strip”, where the army will remain in any “occupied” area.
