Calls are growing louder to extend a fragile pause in fighting and allow more aid to Gaza.

After weeks of intense Israeli bombardment, a humanitarian truce is used to exchange dozens of detainees and captives between Israel and Hamas.

But that deal hit a snag Saturday, when a disagreement led to a delay of several hours in the release of the captives.

So, with great distrust on both sides, how can mediators ensure that Israel and Hamas play their roles?

And what are the logistical implications of facilitating such an agreement?

Can it be extended beyond the agreed four days?

Presenter: Nastassia Tay

Guests:

Alastair Crooke – Founder of the Conflicts Forum and seasoned negotiator

Fabrizio Carboni – Regional Director Near and Middle East of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

Nimer Sultany – SOAS Center for Palestinian Studies Advisory Board University of London
