Israeli media reported that 15 sites had been burning for hours in northern Israel, some of them as a result of missile launches from Lebanon.
Pictures showed continuing fires and columns of smoke emanating from the Kiryat Shmona settlement in the Galilee, northern Israel, after rockets fired by Lebanese Hezbollah fell yesterday, Sunday.
The “Israel Hayom” website said that 14 firefighting teams have been working for more than 5 hours in an attempt to extinguish the fires raging in the Upper Galilee.

As for Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, it said that Israelis were evacuated from their homes in Kiryat Shmona, and that firefighting teams were able to contain the fires near homes in the Margaliot area.
The newspaper also said that the focus now is on putting out the raging fires in the mountainous areas and fields, in Margaliot and Kiryat Shmona.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation published scenes that it said were of fires that reached homes in the Kiryat Shmona settlement in Galilee, following a missile attack carried out by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon.
