The Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – showed scenes that it said showed its fighters targeting, in a precise ambush, two Israeli tanks and destroying them in the Al-Shaboura neighborhood in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, with an RPG shell and a barrel bomb.
The video broadcast by the Al-Quds Brigades stated that its fighters “were able to prepare an ambush to hunt down the Zionist enemy’s vehicles penetrating into the Al-Shaboura neighborhood in the center of Rafah.”
Al-Saraya added that its fighters prepared a high-explosive barrel bomb, planted it in the path of passing Israeli vehicles, and detonated it with one of the tanks. It said that they targeted the other tank with an RPG shell the moment it advanced toward the tank destroyed by the barrel bomb.
The scenes shown by Tel Aviv Tribune showed fighters from the brigades planting the barrel bomb used to blow up the Israeli vehicle, then targeting the other tank with an RPG shell.
The scenes also included the remains of the Israeli occupation army after its vehicle was blown up.
In the same video, the Al-Quds Brigades showed scenes of its fighters targeting a helicopter with a “SAM 18” missile east of Rafah while it was evacuating the dead and wounded from the Shaboura ambush.
The brigades also announced that its fighters bombed with mortar shells a position of Israeli occupation army soldiers and vehicles penetrating south of the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah.
