UNRWA warned of the repercussions of the “silent war” in the occupied West Bank, while the competent authorities announced a new toll of arrests carried out by the Israeli occupation against residents since the seventh of last October.

On Tuesday, UNRWA expressed its deep concern about the tensions in the occupied West Bank, saying that “the West Bank is facing a silent war.”

This came in a press conference held by the Agency’s Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva.

Lazzarini said, “We are very concerned about the situation in the West Bank, which is facing a silent war.” He added that the intensity of Israeli military operations in refugee camps in the West Bank has become remarkable.

Lazzarini pointed out that there has been a lack of interest in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict for 10 years.

In a related context, the Israeli army arrested 25 Palestinians, bringing the total number of its arrests in the occupied West Bank to 9,385 since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on the seventh of last October.

This came in a statement issued Tuesday by the Commission for Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club.

The statement indicated that the arrests were concentrated in Nablus Governorate (north), while the rest of the arrests were distributed among the governorates of Bethlehem (south), Ramallah (central), and Qalqilya (north).

The arrests were accompanied by widespread raids and abuse, specifically in the Balata camp in Nablus, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to the destruction and sabotage of citizens’ homes.

In the same context, local sources said that resistance fighters opened fire on the Salem military checkpoint near Jenin in the northern West Bank.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip with American support since the seventh of last October, which has so far led to the fall of about 124,000 martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, and more than 10,000 are missing, amid massive destruction and famine. The lives of dozens of children.

In conjunction with its war on Gaza, the occupation escalated its attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, leaving 553 Palestinian martyrs, including 133 children, and about 5,300 wounded, according to the Ministry of Health.
