Vladimir Putin praised Tuesday, in front of the hierarchs of his army, the “consolidation” of society behind his assault on Ukraine, a few months before the presidential election and the second anniversary of a murderous war.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that his troops “kept the initiative” in Ukraine. He also added that the enemy army suffered heavy losses during its counter-offensive. According to him, the United States and the West are insisting that the war continues in Ukraine, because this would generate significant profits.

“The enemy is suffering heavy losses and has largely wasted its reserves, trying to show its true masters at least some results of its much-publicized so-called counteroffensive. By the way, the myth about the invulnerability of Western military equipment collapsed” affirmed Vladimir Putin in front of the hierarchs of his army.

Russian Defense Minister says Russian troops now control territory in Ukraine “five times bigger” than that occupied by the pro-Russians before February 2022. According to Sergei Shoigu, the Ukrainian army has lost more than 383,000 men since the start of the conflict.
