In Ukraine, fighting rages along the Dnieper River. According to Kyiv, the Ukrainian army “carried out a series of successful actions” in the Kherson region.
A “series of successful operations” : this is how the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs defines the advance on the eastern bank of the Dnieper, in the Kherson region. Ukrainian troops claim to have secured several captures, killing or injuring “nearly 3,500 Russians”.
On social networks, Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the soldiers “for their strength and advancement”.
The Dnieper constitutes a natural dividing line along the southern front.
Moscow, for its part, claims to be inflicting heavy losses on Ukrainian troops on the other side.
“In the Kherson direction, the enemy is on the right west bank of the Dnieper, and during attempts to land on the islands, they lost more than 460 servicemen, killed and wounded, two tanks and 17 vehicles” said Igor Konashenkov, Spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry.
The Ukrainian military administration carried out an assessment of the damage this Friday after 24 hours of bombing in Kherson. Authorities say at least three people were killed and six others injured in the attacks.
