In Lysychansk, in the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine, a strike on a bakery in the town left at least 28 people dead, including a child, Russian emergency services announced on Sunday February 4.

Several buildings collapsed. Ten people were rescued from the rubble and treated at the local hospital, but the search is still ongoing. A day of mourning was declared on Sunday by the authorities installed by Moscow.

According to a pro-Russian official, Ukrainian forces deliberately targeted the trade. Kyiv has not yet commented on these allegations. The Ukrainian General Staff only claimed that Ukrainian aircraft had struck “12 areas of enemy concentration” during the day on Saturday.

On both sides of the front, attacks with long-range missiles are increasing, while their positions remain frozen.

Later in the day, Moscow released footage showing Russian army helicopters striking Ukrainian positions in the Krasny Lyman region.
