Paris announces the launch of an “artillery coalition” of Ukraine’s allies.

The objective is to strengthen deliveries of ammunition which the Ukrainian army says is sorely lacking.

France should soon deliver six Caesar self-propelled guns to Ukraine, the manufacturing times of which have been reduced from three years to 18 months.

According to the French Defense Minister, ammunition production capacities for Ukraine have also been accelerated.

Rustem Umerov, Ukrainian Defense Minister: “The reality of this war is that Russia vastly outperforms us in daily artillery attacks. (…) The shortage of ammunition, the starvation of projectiles, is a very real problem and pressing situation our armed forces are currently facing. We must find a way to solve this together. Increasing our artillery capacity will strengthen our security.”

French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu estimates that the end of January Paris should supply Ukraine with 3,000 155mm shells each monthcompared to a thousand in April 2023.
