Israel continued its bombings this Sunday in the Gaza Strip. NGOs on site estimate that more than 1.4 million Gazans are dependent on UN aid.
Israel continued its bombardments on Sunday on the besieged Gaza Strip and in a desperate humanitarian situation for the Palestinians after almost three months of war against Hamas. At least 48 Palestinians killed in overnight strikes on Gaza Cityindicated the Health Ministry of Hamas in power in the Palestinian territory.
According to NGOs operating there, more than 1.4 million Gazans are dependent on UN aid. The Israeli army’s ground incursion also complicates the delivery of humanitarian aid. This is currently coming in in trickles, and remains lower than actual needs.
The Palestinian Red Cross reminded the networks that the two million Gazans find it difficult to think about the new year as they struggle daily to survive.
Meanwhile, Tel Aviv’s towers were lit up yellow in support of hostages held by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip for more than 80 days.
