The Ukrainian president wants to convince the United States to release aid for his country.
A crucial move for the future of the war in Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky went to Washington this Monday on the eve of a new tête-à-tête with Joe Biden.
The Ukrainian President thus wishes to obtain the release of a capital envelope for his country at war. The United States remains the largest military supporter of Kyiv, but the American president’s promise to continue financial support to Ukraine is in serious jeopardy. The US Congress failed to pass more than $61 billion in aid to Ukraine last week.
Volodymyr Zelensky will also meet the new head of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson to convince the Republicans to release these funds.
Russia continued its air attacks in Ukraine. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army has recorded nearly 46 strikes against military sites and residential areas. In Kherson, one person was killed and at least two others injured.
Moscow also announced that the four annexed Ukrainian regions will participate in the presidential election which is said to take place next year.
