The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited a hospital where soldiers wounded in combat are treated and rehabilitated.

During his visit to the facility in Ukraine’s Rivne region on Tuesday, Zelensky was able to see the hospital’s activities, the physiotherapy room, the swimming pool and the robotic rehabilitation room where therapists work with patients.

Much has already been done, both in terms of fortifications and mining of the border“, Mr. Zelensky said in his nightly video address.

The inexorable Russian advance in the East

Slowly but surely, this summer, Russian troops have broken through Ukraine’s overrun, undermanned and under-ammunition defenses in relentless assaults, prompting calls from the West for new weapons and strategies to help Kyiv.

Moscow’s forces have overrun two villages on the Ukrainian frontline in Donetsk, a Ukrainian army sergeant said Monday, following attacks that are part of the Kremlin’s efforts to overwhelm the region’s defenses.

THE UNITED STATES announced on Monday additional military aid of $1.7 billion to Ukraine, including a range of ammunition for air defense systems, artillery, mortars and anti-tank missiles.

This latest shipment of arms comes just over two weeks after NATO Summit in Washingtonduring which the allies reaffirmed their support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian forces.

Ukraine has announced its intention to involve Russia in the second peace summit scheduled for November. One of the presidential spokesmen said that “The main question was whether Moscow would conduct the negotiations in good faith.“He added that if the Russians refuse to sit at the negotiating table, it will become clear that”who wants peace and who doesn’t“.
