Antony Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv, a new stop on his Middle East tour. Objective of this visit: to avoid a regional escalation of the conflict. And above all, convince Israel to reduce its military presence in the Gaza Strip, while its bombings have left more than 23,000 dead according to Hamas and displaced nearly 85% of the population.

The situation in the Palestinian enclave was at the heart of the meeting on Monday between Antonio Guterres and the new UN coordinator for humanitarian aid in Gaza.

According to UNICEF, the living conditions of children there are catastrophic, making them more vulnerable to diseases. Furthermore, 90% of them suffer from malnutrition, according to the organization.

In Israel, three months after the Hamas attack, relatives of the victims wanted to pay tribute to them. A few days ago, a ceremony was organized at the Nova festival site, where the tragedy took place.

Around 136 hostages remain in the Gaza Strip. But faced with the incessant bombings by the Israeli army, their loved ones are torn between hope and worry.
