The Israeli police brutally and barbarically attacked a Palestinian woman and removed her hijab, sparking widespread anger and resentment on social media platforms.

A surveillance camera documented the moment a number of Israeli police officers severely beat the Palestinian woman and stripped her of some of her clothes in the city of Qalanswa in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The 30-year-old woman suffered internal bleeding and physical bruises, and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in the city of Kfar Saba. She is originally a cancer patient, according to Palestinian media.

The Palestinian woman recounted the details of what happened, saying that the Israeli police visited her home in the town of Qalanswa more than once to check the surveillance cameras to protect the house because of its location close to the main street.

She revealed that she was assaulted by police officers when she tried to prevent them from entering the second time for tampering with the surveillance cameras.

On the other hand, the Israeli police claimed that “the woman prevented the entry of police officers while carrying out a mission against criminals, and tried to disrupt their work and attacked one of them, so she was arrested.”

The police indicated that its officers “had to use force against the woman when she resisted an attempt to arrest her, and when she was handcuffed, her headdress was returned to her after it had fallen during the arrest process.”

Overwhelming resentment

In its episode on (1/9/2025), the “Shabakat” program monitored some of the comments of activists and tweeters regarding the incident that swept social media platforms and virtual networks. Muhammad commented, saying, “Indeed, we have become like the scum of a torrent. The sanctity of our women is being violated, their veils are being removed, and we are unable to do anything.”

Abu Ezz El-Din said in his tweet, “A Palestinian woman defends herself against the aggressing Jews with all courage and strength, while a billion Muslims watch as if the matter does not concern them.”

Jamila denounced the international community’s silence regarding the tragic incident, and said, “The hypocritical West that has always praised women’s rights and gloated about human rights has swallowed its tongue.”

In turn, an account called “Prisoners of Freedom” highlighted the systematic violations against the 48 Palestinians, who constitute 21% of Israel’s population, and whose number exceeds two million Palestinians.

The same account said, “This is a small part of the systematic violence practiced on our Palestinian sisters at home.”

It is noteworthy that the family of the Palestinian woman said that the attack had a racist nature, and that they would not remain silent about it, stressing that they would file an official complaint and pursue the police legally.
