In recent hours, the Israeli occupation army intensified its violent bombardment on the Gaza Strip, leading to the death of dozens, while an American envoy held a series of meetings with Israeli leaders.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that an Israeli bombing targeted a residential apartment in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah, leaving 3 martyrs and a number of injured.

The reporter said that several people were martyred and others were injured in the bombing of a house for the Al-Arouqi family in the Abu Iskandar area in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.

Local Palestinian sources also reported that occupation artillery bombed the eastern areas of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that Israeli warplanes bombed the Al-Qasaib neighborhood in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip said earlier that the Israeli bombing targeted a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp, and its spokesman Mahmoud Basal added to Agence France-Presse that the Civil Defense teams in the Central Governorate were able to recover 31 martyrs and 20 wounded from a house belonging to the Hassan family that was targeted by the Israeli occupation forces. In Nuseirat camp.

In the north of the besieged and devastated Palestinian Strip, the Arab National Hospital (Al-Baptist) reported the death of three people in an Israeli raid on a school housing displaced people in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

The Israeli occupation army announced months ago the “dismantling of the military structure” of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the northern Gaza Strip, but last Friday it declared to the press agency that Hamas “was in complete control of Jabalia until our arrival a few days ago.”

In the southern Gaza Strip, the occupation army announced the intensification of its operations in Rafah, where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists on carrying out a large ground attack that he considers necessary to eliminate the Hamas movement in its last major “strongholds.”

On May 7, the Israeli army took control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, despite widespread international opposition to this.

About 800,000 Palestinians have been forced to flee Rafah, according to the United Nations, since the sixth of this month.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the Israeli occupation forces committed 8 massacres in the Strip, killing 70 martyrs and 110 injured within 24 hours.

The Ministry confirmed that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023 has risen to 35,456 martyrs and 79,476 injured.

Politically

On the political level, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met yesterday, Sunday, with his Israeli counterpart, Tzamchi Hanegbi, in Tel Aviv and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, without specifying the content of the meetings.

The visit coincided with the emergence of deep differences between the Israeli political components, as the minister in the war government, Benny Gantz, threatened the day before Saturday to resign unless Netanyahu approved a plan for the post-war period in the Gaza Strip.

Before that, Defense Minister Yoav Galant called on Netanyahu to “immediately prepare” for a “governmental alternative to Hamas” in the Gaza Strip, calling on him to announce that “Israel will not impose civilian control over the Gaza Strip.”

Netanyahu, who has so far refused to discuss the post-war period, was quick to respond to Gantz, considering that his demands “have a clear meaning: the end of the war, the defeat of Israel, the abandonment of most of the hostages, leaving Hamas intact and the establishment of a Palestinian state.”

It is noteworthy that US President Joe Biden renewed his call yesterday, Sunday, for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing that he is working for a “lasting peace” in the Middle East that includes the establishment of a Palestinian state.

In Tel Aviv, many Israelis demonstrated demanding the return of the prisoners. They raised banners with the words “Send them back to their country” written on them.

Humanly

On the humanitarian front, Doctors Without Borders warned that Al Awda Hospital, besieged by tanks, in the northern Gaza Strip had run out of drinking water.

Al Awda Hospital is one of the last operating hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, and some employees and patients are taking shelter there.

The organization called on all warring parties to ensure the protection of Al Awda Hospital and health infrastructure.
