Iceland issued a red weather alert for Wednesday and Thursday morning.

The Icelandic Met Office warned against a violent storm of South-South-West accompanied by winds from 100 to 120 km/h and important rains.

House roofs have been torn off, shot down, and the strongest burst was measured at 58 meters per second in the north of Snaefellsnes.

Thunderstorms also broke out in southwest Iceland. The schools were closed early today, and in many schools, the courses have been canceled.
