More than 29 pointed, family of traditional fishing boat emblematic of Mediterranean Provence (in particular Var and the Alpes-Maritimes), took part this year in the flower naval battle, a tradition which dates back to 1902 in Villefranche-sur- Sea.

Different generations are involved in this traditional naval battle and endeavor to be ready for 2 p.m., the departure time of the naval battle.

Amber and her little sister invest in the choice of eyelets that will decorate their father’s boat.

Shortly before departure, all the tips are full of mimosa and eyelets.

Isabelle engages in her fourth naval battle. She has her little secret: the flowers will come in the hands of the spectators if she launches a bouquet of flowers.

At 2 p.m., the parade begins. The boats go a first round to meet the public. And it’s in the second round that serious things start. For almost an hour, the 100% of flowers prepared by Isabelle, Julia and Lisa are distributed to those present.

In the end, the public leaves their hands full of flowers and seems to be conquered by what he has just experienced.

In total, more than a ton of mimosa and 60,000 eyelets have been distributed.
