Three Roxellane rhinopits, also a threatened species called “Golden Monkey”, were presented for the first time in Europe at the Beauval Zooparc, on Wednesday May 7.
Arrived from the Shanghai zoological park, the trio (Jindou, Jinbao and Jinhua) suffered forty of a month before being presented to the public.
Originally from the mountain forests in the center and southwest China, these rare primates are the symbol of a ten-year partnership with the Chinese association for the conservation of wild animals.
The specially designed enclosure, “The heights of China”, reproduces the natural habitat of the monkeys, with traditional Chinese architecture and indigenous vegetation.
The arrival of Jindou, Jinbao and Jinhua, is part of a sweet diplomacy approach, strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties between France and China.
