The Danish capital turns into a dazzling show for three weeks with the Copenhagen Light Festival. Until February 23, the streets, places and buildings are transformed into a captivating luminous canvas, still visible in the morning in order to inspire users en route to work.

Among the 50 unpublished installations, some are interactive, like “aura”, where the colors vary according to the emotions of visitors, and “Love is a light” with its trampoline. A light installation connected to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) visualizes the sea wind in real time. In a cemetery, works pay homage to nature and celebrate happy memories.

The festival also offers various events, such as Denmark’s largest light race, guided tours with dance, and wine tastings and beers between works.

The Copenhagen Light Festival seduces more than 400,000 visitors each year, braving the winter cold. It still ranks as the second largest luminous art festival in Europe, after the Lyon Light Festival, which brings together annually between 1.5 and 2 million visitors.
