After the COVID-19 crisis, the art market had partially recovered before experiencing a further drop in sales in 2023, of around 4% – or around 65 billion dollars (nearly 60 billion euros) – according to the 2024 Art Market Report published in March by Art Basel and the Swiss bank UBS.
Art Basel will open its doors to the public from June 13 to 16, after two days of previews. Some 285 international galleries are expected, including 22 for the first time.
